According to information, turquoise does not naturally occur in the original copper porphyry but forms through a process involving the interaction of meteoric water and the host rock.  Meteoric water, such as rain or snow melt, percolates through the copper porphyry, and the dissolved oxygen in the water oxidizes the copper sulfides to soluble sulfates. This solution then reacts with aluminum and potassium minerals in the rock to precipitate turquoise. This process often results in the formation of turquoise veins in volcanic rock or phosphate-rich sediments.  It appears that this deposition usually takes place at relatively low temperatures, between 90-195 °C, and seems more common in arid environments.
