Rose Quartz gets its pink color from trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese distributed through the crystal lattice the exact cause is still debated among mineralogists, since the color can fade with prolonged UV exposure, unlike most other quartz varieties. It typically forms in massive, cloudy formations rather than clear pointed crystals.
Cut here into a rectangle rather than a rounded bead, the flat faces catch light differently than a polished cabochon would.
