Plume Agate forms when mineral-rich fluid usually iron or manganese oxide spreads through cavities in rock before the silica around it fully hardens, freezing the plume-like patterns mid-drift. Unlike banded agate, no two plume formations move the same way twice.
Cut into a round cabochon and set in a sterling silver mount, this piece shows the Red Black Plumes pattern sourced from West Texas.
